Pregnancy, labor, and birth were supposed to be the hard parts, right? Then it’s just peace, quiet, and cuddling with baby - Wasn’t that WRONG! Adjusting to a new baby is one of the biggest transitions you will have in your lifetime.  

Not only is parenthood physically exhausting at times, going on no sleep and trying to nap when baby does isn’t as easy as you expected.

The emotions can feel intense, overwhelming, and confusing.

Many of my clients have felt the pressure to project only the good feelings, and put on a happy face, but if you are experiencing some ambivalence, you are not alone. These feelings are not a reflection of who you are as a person or mother.

Pretending everything is okay when it really isn't gets exhausting. Hiding your feelings from others in order maintain an illusion you "have it all together" can cause even deeper feelings of shame, isolation, resentment, and hopelessness. 

Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
